- We fade the color of the road and water, which help people focus on the circle.Make some simple 3D models that stands for the real buildings.
- Remove the geometrical shapes of the icons. Just leave the symbols.
- In order to highlight the circle, we put it upon the map.
- Adjust the space between the icons.
We hope this concept can work well and we will test it.

You kept the 3D building inside the circle. It is a nice idea which makes the map so cute! But the second route, routeP, the buildings should also have the gradient of the transparent as the route K, right? Also the color in two versions is not completely same...
The floating circle idea is good. And furthermore, combining the icon and the 3D buildings may be a good way to make the map much integrated. Since now the tiny stuff is in both inside and outside of the floating circle will a little bit distract viewer's attention on choosing the sequence.

ReplyDeleteIn this concept you have improved the information given regarding the content of the map. It is now clearer where along the route one can find the desired shops, museums etc. The corresponding colours and buildings make it easier to see at which building one can find what. You have removed the gradient from the circle which was the right thing to do. I think that changing the opacity of the relevant icons to draw attention to a certain route is a good attempt. Having decreased the opacity of the actual map also works well, as the focus is now on the circle. However, I do not understand why you have chosen to lift the orange circle from the map. This makes it challenging to see exactly where on the map these listed buildings are.

After seeing the result of your test, a question mark pops out: in the third test u did, the comparison of the 3 techniques, it is a better way to this version, the tiny icons without the circle around. Since found the tiny icons with the circle easily make the map complicated, it will influence the result of the comparison of the 3 techniques. So we wonder is there any other purpose to use the one with circle?
