Improving concept1

After some long hours of struggle we managed to
develop our concept into a colorful design!

Curious for your reaction!

  1. Heej guys!
    Really colorfull concept indeed!
The connection between the icons and the colored 3D buildings is very clear.
You can also easily see that the 3D blocks are buildings because of the map background.

I don't know if I understood the rules of the assignment right, it is pretty tricky to read.. The circle can be in perspective, like you show now. But I don't know if you were allowed to use gradient colors in the circle..
Perhaps you can use the different coloring of your icons in the same way with your 3D blocks? It is also imaginable that with the map-like background would become too crowded to show the icons above the 3D blocks. That's presumably why you placed them on the side. But maybe the skyline is enough of an indication that the 3D blocks represent buildings? Then you might be able to leave the map out? Although I understand how it helps you understand to recognize of the blocks as buildings.

  2. Hi!!

    Concept 1

The gradient you have used in your circles still seems to be an indicator for direction as part of the circle itself. Also, the darkest or lightest areas on the gradient suggest a starting point to me. In this case I am guessing that you try to draw attention to the dark areas on the circle as they provide more contrast with the background. Having said this, these gradients are difficult to understand with reference to the central station, as they do not gives clues to a direction or to the content on the map. The icons on listed on the right side are not linked to the map properly. These routes are difficult to understand.
